Measles, Mumps And Rubella Vaccinations

Measles, Mumps And Rubella – More Information

According to Queensland Health, the state is currently experiencing its worst outbreak of measles in 15 years. The measles (MMR) vaccine is highly recommended for all adults that haven’t already had two boosters, particularly those in high-risk groups like healthcare workers, parents or childcare workers, as well as those set to travel overseas.

We can vaccinate adults aged over 18 years – please speak to your local TerryWhite Chemmart pharmacist if you have questions about your requirement for the vaccine, or any other queries you may have.

Unfortunately, the vaccine is not suitable for women who are pregnant or planning to fall pregnant soon. If you fall into this category, please speak to your GP for more advice.

Fees apply for this service. Please ask your pharmacist if you may be eligible for the free vaccination from your local GP.

This pharmacy is participating in the Queensland Pharmacist Immunisation Pilot (QPIP). QPIP aims to investigate the benefits of registered pharmacists providing influenza, measles and pertussis vaccines to members of the public in the community pharmacy setting. Pharmacies involved in this pilot have been required to meet the standards set out in the QPIP Protocol approved by the Queensland University of Technology Human Research Ethics Committee. The pharmacists participating in this pilot have been legally authorised to administer vaccines by the granting of an approval under Section18 (1) of the Health (Drugs and Poisons) Regulation 1996.
